Summary

Tally is local-first and collects nothing. There is no account to create, no server to sync to, and no analytics or advertising of any kind. Everything you record stays on your device, under your control.

This policy explains, in plain terms, how Tally handles your information — and the short version is that it largely doesn't handle it at all, because it never leaves your phone.

01 · Data we collect

We do not collect any personal data. Tally has no backend and no developer-operated servers. The transactions, categories, notes, and settings you create are stored only on your device.

We receive no information about you, your finances, or how you use the app. We cannot see your data because it is never transmitted to us.

02 · Local storage

All of your records are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's on-device storage. This includes:

  • Income and expense transactions, amounts, dates, and notes
  • Categories and their colours and icons
  • Recurring transaction rules
  • App preferences, such as your currency symbol display (¥ or $)

If you have iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup enabled for your device, Tally's data may be included in that device backup, which is managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Tally itself does not operate any cloud service.

03 · No account

Tally does not require an account. There is no registration, no email address, no phone number, and no password. You are never asked to identify yourself, and we hold no user records of any kind.

04 · No analytics, ads, or tracking

Tally contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no tracking technologies. We do not profile you, we do not measure your behaviour, and we do not share, sell, or rent any information to anyone — because we never collect it in the first place.

There are no cookies, no advertising identifiers, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking.

05 · Notifications

If you choose to enable reminders, Tally schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated and delivered entirely on-device by iOS and are never routed through a remote push server operated by us. You can disable them at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.

06 · Import & export

Tally lets you export your data to a standard file and import data back in. These actions are performed manually by you and stay on your device or wherever you choose to save the file (for example, the Files app or a destination you select). Tally does not automatically upload exports anywhere.

07 · Children's privacy

Tally does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no data is gathered or transmitted, the app does not knowingly process any data from children under the age required by your local law.

08 · Your control

You own your data outright. You can edit or delete any record at any time, export everything to take it elsewhere, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your device. There is no copy of your information held by us to request, correct, or erase.

09 · Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. If a future version of Tally ever introduces a feature that handles data differently, we will describe it here before that feature is released.
